FAQs

Bodywork:

  • Before your first visit, you'll fill out a brief intake form to help us understand your health history and any specific areas of concern. Your therapist will then discuss your needs and preferences before beginning the massage. Feel free to ask any questions or mention any areas of tension you want focused on during your session. Your therapist might take you through a couple of movement screenings before getting you on the table.

  • One session feels great — but the true benefits of massage therapy and bodywork come with consistency.
When received regularly, massage and bodywork can relieve stress and tension, support pain management, improve posture and range of motion, and contribute to overall health and well-being. The effects are cumulative — meaning the more consistent you are, the better you’ll feel.

A membership makes it easier — and more affordable — to stay consistent.

    Membership Benefits:

    • Enjoy one 60- or 90-minute session each month

    • Share your membership with a family member

    • Save 20% or more on additional services

    • Exclusive member-only discounts on gift purchases and collaborations

    • Unused sessions roll over to the next month

    • Only a 3-month minimum commitment required

  • Yes. At Peak Function we prioritize the safety and well-being of all our clients, including minors. If you're bringing a minor in for a massage therapy session, we ask that you complete a minor release form to ensure their treatment is carried out with full consent and understanding. A minor release form is a document that provides written consent from a parent or legal guardian allowing a licensed massage therapist to treat a minor (under the age of 18). This form includes information about the child’s health, the parent’s consent for treatment, and acknowledgment of potential risks involved in receiving massage therapy.

  • It's up to you! For certain types of massage, you may be more comfortable undressing to your level of comfort. You will always be draped with a sheet and blanket to maintain your privacy. You can also wear loose clothing or sportswear if you're more comfortable with that. Your comfort is our priority. Your therapist will address any concerns or questions you have at the time of your appointment.

  • It’s important to communicate with your therapist if you experience any discomfort during the massage. The pressure can often be adjusted, and your therapist can modify the techniques to ensure your comfort.

  • Yes, there are certain conditions and situations where massage therapy may not be suitable. These include:

    • Acute injuries (such as sprains, strains, or fractures)

    • Fever or illness

    • Contagious skin conditions (like rashes, infections, or open wounds)

    • Cancer (particularly if the patient is undergoing active treatment like chemotherapy, without doctor approval)

    • Severe heart conditions (like uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease, or recent heart surgery)

  • No, it's best to avoid massage therapy if you're feeling sick or have a fever. Massage can increase circulation, which may make fever symptoms worse and prolong illness. It's best to rest, hydrate, and return to massage therapy once you're feeling better.

  • The frequency of massages depends on your individual needs and goals. Some clients benefit from regular sessions, such as once a week, while others may prefer monthly visits for postural needs or to manage chronic pain. Your therapist can help recommend an appropriate schedule for you based on your needs.

  • Yes, we work with clients with medical conditions or recovering from injuries. Our trainers are experienced in modifying exercises to accommodate specific needs, but getting clearance from your healthcare provider before starting any new fitness program is always important. If you’re recovering from an injury, we’ll work with you to create a program that promotes healing and safety.

  • The frequency of your sessions depends on your goals, schedule, and budget. Many clients start with 2-3 sessions per week, while others may prefer once a week or bi-weekly sessions. Your trainer will help you determine the optimal frequency based on your objectives.
